Scott represents clients in both state and federal courts in a wide range of complex litigation matters. He has represented banks and other financial institutions in numerous disputes related to bank operations and all types of commercial and residential loans, including successfully defending lender liability claims and successfully prosecuting claims related to personal guarantees and mortgage fraud. Scott also represents commercial clients in litigation involving real estate transactions, company ownership disputes, human resources related claims and all types of litigation arising from contract disputes.
In addition to his commercial practice, Scott represents Maricopa County and other governmental entities in civil rights, wrongful death, and other tort related claims. In this regard, Scott has developed substantial expertise in handling claims brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and related statutes.
Prior to entering private practice, Scott had the honor of serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Mary H. Murguia, United States District Court Judge for the District of Arizona. In his role as law clerk, Scott was involved in numerous cases regarding the United States Constitution and countless federal statutes, such as Title VII, the ADA, and the Federal Tort Claims Act.
