Laura A. Freeman
Laura has a wide range of civil litigation experience, with particular emphasis
on commercial and employment-related disputes and representing
governmental agencies in civil rights litigation.

Laura counsels employers on personnel policies, restrictive covenants,
investigations, document management and related employment issues. She
has significant experience defending employers against allegations of
employment discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, wrongful
termination and employment-related torts such as defamation. Laura also
regularly drafts and reviews employment agreements, confidentiality
agreements, and non-competition and non-solicitation agreements and
conducts workplace training on compliance with Title VII, the Americans with
Disabilities Act, and various state and federal anti-discrimination and
harassment law.

Laura has also represented companies in both state and federal court against
claims involving breach of contract, fraud, interference with business
advantage, breach of fiduciary duty, non-compete agreements, negligence,
defamation and intellectual property and trademark disputes.

Laura’s governmental agency experience includes defending agencies and
individual employees against claims of defamation, breach of contract,
violations of 42 U.S.C. 1983, and other civil rights violations.
